Photographer John Rosenthal says he “learned to recognize the signs of loss” while living in New York City, that recognition leads him to photograph buildings, places, & objects with the intent of preserving them before they are destroyed. He turned his lens to New Orleans & the 9th Ward in the days & weeks after Hurricane Katrina where he captured haunting, evocative images that tell the storm.
