Beginning with stories and reminiscences of his grandfather Josephus Daniels, who bought the newspaper in 1894 and moving through memories of his uncle, Jonathan Daniels, and his father, Frank Daniels, Mr. Daniels provides a portrait of early 20th-century North Carolina history.
