For over 30 years, Dr. Steve McKeand has spent his days at North Carolina State University working on the genetics of tree breeding. Land owners and foresters across the entire southeast now benefit from the hundreds of thousands of trees grown from the seedlings he's produced through the Cooperative Tree Improvement Program.
