After being fired from his job as district manager of a restaurant chain and with only $500 to his name, Moore, then 28, opened the first Andy's restaurant in 1992 from the ashes of a defunct restaurant at the local mall. He decided to meet the needs of others before his own in what's known as the philosophy of "servant leadership."
